For the third consecutive year, SBSA Advogados has received the seal from the SOS Mata Atlântica Foundation and the Totum Institute for offsetting the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions generated by the firm.
The offset for 2023 was carried out through the planting of 104 seedlings of native trees from the most threatened biome in Brazil, the Atlantic Forest.
The planting took place in the second half of 2024, following the completion of the report prepared by the Totum Institute, which quantified the emissions from our office units in São Paulo and Curitiba. The analysis took into account various parameters, such as electricity consumption, ground and air transportation, and so-called ‘fugitive emissions’ generated by air conditioning use.
The studies conducted by the Totum Institute, SOS Mata Atlântica, and ESALQ – USP (Luiz de Queiroz College of Agriculture at the University of São Paulo) made it possible to quantify the carbon sequestered by mature trees, thereby determining how many trees would be needed to offset the emissions from our offices.
We thank you for your partnership and reaffirm our commitment to maintaining a responsible approach, contributing to a better and more sustainable world.
